Meet Nitya

For Nitya, creativity has always been a way of seeing the world — through color, shape, texture, and the small details that make something beautiful.

Growing up in Indonesia, her love of art eventually led her to study architecture at the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), one of Indonesia's leading universities for engineering, science, and design. She earned her degree in architecture and began her professional career at IPTN, Indonesia's aerospace company, working in facilities and design.

Life later brought her to the United States, where she earned a Master's degree in Business Administration while starting a family. Over the years, as she raised three children in Ohio, San Diego, West LA, and eventually Santa Clarita, California, creativity remained an important part of her life.

While living in San Diego, Nitya began painting more seriously. After moving to Santa Clarita, that creative exploration continued and gradually expanded into new forms. She discovered hand embroidery and began transforming denim into wearable artwork, creating detailed, one-of-a-kind designs and custom pieces.

Her curiosity eventually led her to surface pattern design. After studying the craft, she began creating original patterns inspired by nature, color, movement, and the beauty she finds in everyday life.

Nitya's creativity has never been limited to a canvas. Over the years, she has volunteered her artistic talents to create floral arrangements for weddings, funerals, birthdays, graduations, and other special occasions. She has also helped create theatrical props and figures for musical theater productions in West Los Angeles.

Today, Nitya Studio brings these creative paths together — painting, embroidery, and pattern design — each one a different expression of the same lifelong love of making things beautiful.

She continues to paint, design, embroider, experiment, and learn, always looking forward to whatever creative idea comes next.
